Mountain Therapy Camp Activities
Pathfinder
Each 6-hour therapy day includes one therapist-supported outside group activity: therapeutic horseback riding, canoeing, rock wall climbing, swimming and the summer tubing hill.
Pathblazer
This 6-hour day involves the same activities as Pathfinder. However, with the focus on teaching group interaction, there are additional therapist-led interactive activities. These might include but are not limited to group art, scavenger hunts, cooking, partner yoga, three-legged races, etc.
Trailblazer
Group activities include therapeutic horseback riding, canoeing and paddle-boarding, low-ropes obstacle course, zip line, hiking, summer tubing hill, rock wall climbing, swimming, go-karts, and the Winter Park Resort alpine slide.
Pioneer
These campers participate in all Trailblazer activities as well as meal planning and grocery shopping for their overnights, tent camping – with the campers themselves putting up their own tents – kayaking and evening cabin games. Time is spent throughout all activities to promote problem solving, self-advocacy and independence.
Siblings
The Younger and Middle groups of Sibling Campers participate in activities around Snow Mountain Ranch including canoeing, fishing, low-ropes obstacle course, zip line, hiking, archery, golf, the summer tubing hill and rock wall climbing. Swimming is the only off-site activity, located at the Fraser Rec Center. Older Siblings go on an excursion to Grand Lake to participate in their Nature Program through the Forestry Service.
Adventure Road Trips
Road trips provide campers a rare opportunity to explore distant places while engaging in new activities that are only available based on location. Some of these activities include bringing campers deep into the mountains to resorts where they learn to ski or snowboard under the guidance of professionals. Other road trips bring campers as far as neighboring states, where they may visit scenic places such as MOAB in Utah or Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. If your camper is feeling more adventurous, these road trips are a perfect fit.
Adventure Weekends
Adventure weekends allow campers many opportunities throughout the year to interact with friends. These trips are conveniently located in or near the Denver area. During these weekends, campers will enjoy activities such as scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, hikes and movie nights. Adventure Weekends provide the perfect opportunity for campers to enjoy a quick getaway packed with excitement.
