Ron Adams

Board Member

After graduating in Tecumseh, KS, Ron studied finance and economics at Washburn University. He then took a year off to explore his passion for skiing and helping others with that passion through his work with the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch. (Our esteemed partner). Returning to Kansas to participate in the family business for a few years before relocating to Dallas in 1980. There he continued the family business before venturing on his own to successfully run 5 businesses for over 35 years. He has now retired from the day-to-day but keeps himself busy with hobbies, finance, and volunteer work.

Ron has served over 12 years on the Board of the DFW Humane Society, including Board Chair. During his tenure they became the first rescue, in the Country, to partner with a large City to build a brand-new state-of-the-art facility. This facility not only provided needed shelter for unwanted abused animals but education programs as well.

Ron got involved with Adam’s Camp through his relationship with the YMCA and his younger sibling. Having been inspired by his brother Jimmy, 6 year Camper, and seeing the staff in action, he knew he wanted to offer his help, as a Board Member. Newly appointed to the Board, Ron hopes to get the involvement of people outside of Colorado to learn about the wonders of Adam’s Camp.

Ron currently serves on the finance committee, with a keen sight on fundraising efforts. His background of running small businesses with 50+ staff, allows the knowledge of finance to help guide the continued success of Adam’s Camp.

Ron currently resides in Dallas, with numerous long trips to Colorado with his partner of 37 years and cats, Billy & Yoda. His Mom and Jimmy live a short distance in Arlington.
