Paying for Camp
The team at Adam’s Camp recognizes that families of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities already have extra challenges and extra expenses. We want to ensure that participation in Adam’s Camp programs is possible for every family, regardless of financial or insurance status.
Fortunately, there are several ways to pay for camp!
Current Camp Dates & Rates
Early Start Camp – $1,650 per week
Mountain Therapy Camp – $3,999 per week
Adventure Camp – $1,737 per week
Waivers and Service Plans
If your child is on a waiver (CES/SLS), your Community Center Board (CCB), such as Developmental Pathways, Rocky Mountain Human Services, Envision, etc., can dedicate respite funds in your child’s Annual Service Plan towards the cost of camp.
Respite funding is available for the Early Start, Mountain Therapy, and Adventure camp programs. This funding for both the Early Start and Therapy programs typically covers a portion of the program but not the full balance. Funding is available for Adventure Camp and is billed under Group Overnight Respite. Most of the time, CCB’s do cover the full cost of camp. The Developmental Disabilities (DD) waiver does not cover camp, so make sure that you have the correct waiver completed.
If you are new to Adam’s Camp and plan to enroll, reach out to your case manager and tell them your plans. Adam’s Camp does require a copy of your child’s service plan that shows Adam’s Camp listed as a provider with the specified number of units and your child’s Medicaid information. All waiver funding comes from Medicaid dollars, even if you did not realize your child had a Medicaid number. Depending on your situation and the resources your CCB has, you may be able to get a large portion or all of camp paid for – it just takes some work on the front end!
Service plans and Medicaid ID numbers are absolutely required 21 days in advance of your camp’s start date. Failure to provide your child’s service plan/Medicaid ID ahead of the deadline will result in you being billed directly for the cost of camp.

CES/SLS Waivers and Acquiring Funding
The Children’s Extensive Support (CES) waiver helps children (under 18) and families by providing services and supports to establish a long-term foundation. The Supported Living Services (SLS) waiver provides necessary services and supports for individuals with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Other CCB Funding for Camp
Community Centered Boards may have additional resources to dedicate towards your child/family’s trip to camp. When working with your child’s case manager, inquire about Family Support Service and Mill Levy fundings that may be available. This funding is not listed in your child’s service plan, and you will need to have your case manager contact us to confirm these additional funds will be applied to your child’s balance.
Private Insurance
Private Insurance may cover a small portion of Early Start and Therapy program camps. If you have met your deductible for the year, your insurance company may cover the out-of-network rate for the billable hours of speech, occupational, and physical therapy. When you register for camp, let us know that you would like to bill your insurance to help pay for the cost of camp. You are responsible for paying for camp up front, but we will provide you with a superbill after camp that you can submit to your carrier for reimbursement.
My Spark Denver
Adams Camp has recently been approved as a provider through MySpark Denver! This exciting opportunity allows families who meet specific criteria to apply for My Spark and receive a $1000 debit card. This can be used towards Adventure or Therapy camp, or any other My Spark approved provider. It’s a fantastic resource for families who may be facing financial difficulties.
To be eligible for the My Spark Denver pilot program, students and their families must meet certain criteria. Firstly, they must be enrolled in a Denver Public School, including Denver charter schools. Additionally, they must be enrolled in middle school (grades 6, 7, and 8) for the upcoming school year. Lastly, the family must be eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
Applying for My Spark can provide financial support and open doors to enriching experiences.
Private Pay
If you are paying for camp privately, you can pay for camp all at once or set up a payment schedule in our registration system/through our finance team.
With the exception of funding from service plans, which cannot be billed until after you have attended camp, all camp expenses must be paid by March 15th of the camp year.
Adam’s Camp Scholarships
Adam’s Camp awards scholarships for partial support of tuition fees based on numerous considerations, not just financial needs. We encourage families to contact the Adam’s Camp team regarding the above financial support options and to apply for scholarship funding.
