Volunteer Sibling Camp

Sibling Camp Volunteer (14+)

Volunteers have the opportunity to enjoy an exciting week with the brothers and sisters of our therapy campers. Volunteers share in all the activities enjoyed by these campers such as swimming, hiking, tubing, zip lining and/or help take care of the littlest campers in a day care-like setting.

After the end of the camp day (when sibling and therapy campers are picked up by their families who are also staying in the mountains), sibling volunteers support camp in many other ways such as kitchen duty, evening babysitting, set-ups and clean-ups, etc.

Volunteers stay in cabins at Snow Mountain Ranch for the entire week.

Volunteers are required to attend a training prior to camp. Training dates TBD.

What do Sibling Camp Volunteers Do?

Volunteer duties at Summer Camp include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Sibling Camp Coordinators to provide fun and exciting activities for the kids
  • Serving as role models for the campers and fellow volunteers
  • Being part of the Adventure Camp evening activities and/or helping parents
  • Providing kitchen help
  • Other support duties as assigned throughout the day

What Does an Excellent Sibling Volunteer Look Like?

Sibling Camp is looking for sibling volunteers age 14+ for Mountain Therapy Camp who:

  • Love children
  • Want to be at Camp for the campers and experience (not just the community service hours)
  • Enjoy the outdoors and all of the activities Adam’s Camp offers
  • Can be great role models for the campers and fellow volunteers
  • Will be team players always willing to go the extra mile
  • Aren’t afraid of hard work and assuming leadership when necessary
  • Understand that camp this will be the greatest week ever, but also the most exhausting

Little Siblings Middle Siblings Big Siblings

Little Siblings: Babies – 5 years old

8:00-9:00 Opening Circle/Gathering Time (Load Car Seats into Vans)

9:00-10:00 Trike Park

10:15-10:30 Snack

10:30-11:30 Meadow Walk with Butterfly Nets

11:30-12:15 Arts & Crafts

12:15-12:45 Lunch

12:45-1:45 Rest/Nap Time (if needed; otherwise Play Time)

1:45-2:45 Canoeing/Fishing

2:45-3:00 Wrap-Up

At the end of the camp day, sibling volunteers help prepare and clean up dinner. In the evening, they babysit, help with set-ups and help with evening activities.

Middle Siblings: 6 – 10 years old

8:00-9:00 Group Discussion Circle

Campers participate in discussions around what is special about themselves and what makes their families special. These themes are revisited throughout the week in a non-threatening, encouraging manner.

9:00-10:00 Outdoor Wall Climb

10:15-10:30 Snack

10:30-11:30 Miniature Golf

11:30-12:15 Archery

12:15-12:45 Lunch

12:45-1:45 Arts & Crafts

1:45-2:45 Fishing/Canoeing

2:45-3:00 Wrap-Up

Big Siblings: 12+ years

8:00-9:00 Group Discussion Circle

Campers participate in discussions around what is special about themselves, and what makes their families special and possibly unique. These themes are revisited throughout the week in a non-threatening, encouraging manner.

9:00-10:00 Zip-line

10:15-10:30 Snack

10:30-12:00 High Ropes Team Builder Course

12:15-12:45 Lunch

12:45-1:45 Homestead Tour & Make Walking Sticks

1:45-2:45 Waterfall Hike

2:45-3:00 Wrap-Up

At the end of the camp day, sibling volunteers help prepare and clean up dinner. In the evening, they babysit, help with set-ups and help with evening activities.
